Getting to the Forum

VISAS

Since the conference is going to be held in Hungary, most Europeans will not need visas to attend. (We will be investigating which countries Hungary will require visas from, and will work with applicants from these countries in securing visas).

TRAVELLING TO EGER BY AUTOMOBILE

If you are travelling to Eger by car, you need to go to the Hotel Eger Park in the central part of Eger. If you are flying to the Forum, we recommend that you fly into Ferihegy International Airport in Budapest, Hungary. There are 18 airlines that fly to Budapest from other European countries at very reasonable prices. Visit this site to learn more about different inexpensive flight options.

Once arriving in Budapest, you have two options for travel to Eger:

1. If you are arriving on 18 or 19 May, you can take the bus from the Budapest airport that the European Leadership Forum has arranged. We highly recommend this option since it will be much faster and easier. The cost of the Forum's shuttle is 50 Euros one way.

You can sign up for this service here.

If you have booked a flight on Malev Hungarian Airlines, please be aware that the company ceased operations on 3 February. You can find out more about this situation here.

Please note that that the conference cost covers your hotel Saturday through Thursday morning. If you choose to arrive the night of 18 May you will need additional hotel accomodations for Friday. We will provide accomodations for Friday, 18 May. The cost will be an additional 60 or 80 Euros, dependent upon whether you request a double or single room. Please let us know as soon as possible so we can reserve you a room the extra night. You will also need to prepay this added cost.

2. You can travel independently by bus and train (see instructions below).
