Tony Watkins
Tony Watkins is a speaker and writer, working mainly with Damaris where he is the Managing Editor of Culturewatch.org. Tony is the author of Focus: The Art and Soul of Cinema (2007) and Dark Matter: A Thinking Fan’s Guide to Philip Pullman (2004), and co-author of a number of other books. He is currently developing new learning resources on the Old Testament prophets. Tony is also a lecturer at Gimlekollen School of Journalism and Communications, Norway. He and his family live in Southampton, UK, where he is involved in the leadership and preaching in his local church.

Films are tremendously significant in today’s media-saturated culture. Christian communicators need to learn how to value them and engage seriously with them. In this workshop, the speaker will consider some vital aspects of film as art. In addition, he will propose a framework for engaging with films in our communication.
