Sacrifice and the Epistemology of Faith
Often we can hear complaints that morals and spirituality of Evangelical believers are not so very different from the world around them. It is the assertion of this lecture that this problem can be traced to the defective theology of sacrifice in Protestant Christianity. Although it is a variation on the Bonhoefferian theme of "cheap grace", it proposes to look for solutions in the better and deeper understanding of the Old Testament theology of sacrifice and its New Testament application.
